JS Care Ltd -The Full Story

About Us

In 2004 an inspirational leader 'Jackie Storer'  looked at the care and support for People with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Conditions.  She examined the "revolving door" of service users with multiple failed placements and their families being let down on a regular basis. Her vision was to create a service that would provide excellent levels of care to the people that needed it the most.

By 2005 'JS Care Ltd' was born, with our very first service registered - 'Richmond House.' We became operational, and hit the ground running providing high levels of support.

We are a small family run service located in West Yorkshire and we pride ourselves on delivering consistently good levels of person- centred support. We work with complex individuals who require highly skilled levels of care to enable them to lead

'A Life Worth Living'

Many of our service users have had multiple failed placements, so our mission has been to end the "revolving door" for these individuals by allowing sufficient time for recovery and habilitation. This requires a highly skilled staff team who receive professional training and restorative resilience supervision. We provide a therapeutic environment using psychological approaches allowing people the time they need to heal from trauma without evicting them for behaviour that can challenge.

Through continuous reflection and further investment the JS Care family is proud of the much needed services it provides.

We provide a flexible and accessible high-quality service which will support people with a learning disabilities to make choices and exercise control over their lives.

We place the Rights of people with learning disabilities at the forefront of our services.  Our actions and decisions are guided by our commitment to the four key principles of ‘Valuing People’. Humanism is our psychological framework, we believe that if we create the right conditions, people will develop and be their best.

Our mantra is  'NO ONE is ever too broken, too scarred or too far-gone to create change, never stop fighting, never lose faith'

With this ethos in mind, in 2017 we began to support the Transforming Care Agenda ensuring that our new Residential services were built as Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs), delivering Trauma Informed Care (TIC), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

Our vision is to enable many more people to lead full and purposeful lives within their local communities, by providing a stepdown from secure hospital and putting an end to multiple failed placements and the revolving door.
